NoFX/Snuff

London Astoria

*****

Snuff and NoFX have something in common when it comes to live shows. They have no message, no interest in putting on a showand no pretensions. What you get is two bands having fun-fun that spreads round the venue until the whole place is infected.

Snuff deliver a concoction of throaway three-chord punk given a funky edge here and there with the addition of a trombone, and a hilarious rendition of the Cadburys Flake theme added to a just as stupid "Any Old Iron".

NoFx take the stage and continue the stupidy with some class thrashy punk like "Don't call me white" and "Harry the Cat", but then they change the pace here and there with dub renditions of popular classics like the old favourite "Rivers of Babylon". In this day and age where everyone has a doomy, gloomy message, this tour is like a breath of fresh air and a reminder that you got into music in the first place because it was fun.
